Posterior bite collapse, bone loss, and abnormal tongue habits are just some of the conditions that can cause excessive mobility of the lower anteriors. To control these forces and stabilize the anteriors, a mesh composite extra-coronal splint is commonly used because it is easy to place and is esthetically pleasing. The laboratory will use your working model to cut and adapt the mesh to fit the lingual surfaces so that nothing can be seen from the facial aspect. The clinician will etch the teeth and secure the mesh in place with composite.
