Correcting lower anterior flaring can be achieved with this appliance in a relatively short period of time when simple lingual uprighting is required. As the Apron spring is activated to retract the incisors, the lingual acrylic must be periodically relieved to allow room for the movement to occur. It is recommended that only 1mm of acrylic be relieved at each appointment so that a controlled retraction is achieved. This will also allow the appliance to be used as a retainer once the incisors are retracted as desired. Full time wear of this appliance is recommended.
